It is noted that the purpose of the meeting is "to discuss the situation against the background of escalation of actions in recent weeks by Russia, recent events in Czech-Russian relations and to express solidarity and support for the actions taken by the Czech Republic."
Earlier, Czech Foreign Minister Jakub Kulganek said that the number of employees of the Russian embassy in Prague would be reduced to the number of the Czech diplomatic mission in Moscow.
The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed a strong protest to the Czech Ambassador in Moscow Vitezslav Pivonka in connection with the additional measures taken by Prague against Russian diplomats.
In turn, Czech President Milos Zeman called the situation with the expulsion of employees of the Russian and Czech embassies "mutual cannibalism".
