Bernkastel-Kues (dpa / lrs) - A motorcycle group in the Bernkastel-Wittlich district probably triggered a tunnel closure for several hours.
According to witness statements, the fire alarm system in the Burgberg tunnel near Bernkastel-Kues was triggered by the exhaust gases from the motorcycles, as the police announced on Sunday evening.
This lowered the barriers automatically so that the tunnel was closed for two hours.
The fire department diverted the traffic.
