Kommersant: Russia is preparing a legal basis for a temporary ban on the export of gasoline

This is reported by "Kommersant" with reference to the minutes of the meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Alexander Novak on April 21.

As the newspaper writes, we are talking about the fact that, if necessary, the Cabinet had the opportunity to promptly prohibit the export of gasoline to countries outside the EAEU.

The protocol states that the government has decided to include gasoline in the list of goods that are "essential for the domestic market, in respect of which, in exceptional cases, temporary restrictions or export bans may be imposed."

In early April, Novak announced that Russia would evenly increase oil production in May - July 2021 by a total of 114 thousand barrels per day as part of the OPEC + deal.

Stanislav Mitrakhovich, an expert at the Financial University under the Government of Russia and the National Energy Security Fund, commented on the situation with oil demand in an interview with FBA "Economics Today".
