Munich (dpa) - Vice President Rainer Koch has once again confirmed that the German Football Association (DFB) will not pay a transfer fee for a national coach.

"The DFB will not pay any transfer fees because it has never paid transfer fees and because, as a non-profit association, it is difficult to do so," he said on Sunday evening in the "Blickpunkt Sport" program on Bayerischer Rundfunk.

"Incidentally, we made it very clear that we would not break into existing contracts."

The 62-year-old also emphasized that he was responsible for a lot in football, "but certainly not for the question of who will be the new national coach".

Bayern coach Hansi Flick is in discussion as the successor to Joachim Löw as the person responsible for the national team.

Despite the current contract, the 56-year-old wants to leave Munich after the end of the season.

Discussions about terminating the contract with those responsible for Bavaria should take place in the near future.

When asked about a possible transfer fee for Flick, CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said the "Bild am Sonntag": "If we are to meet Hansi's request, all parties must work together to find a solution that FC Bayern is also satisfied with."

On Sunday evening, several media reported unanimously that RB Leipzig should demand a double-digit million sum if the courted coach Julian Nagelsmann should switch to Bayern Munich as Flick's successor.

In the event that the DFB have to pay money for Flick or another coach, Koch announced his resistance.

«From my position as the first man in amateur football, I would strongly disagree.

The DFB doesn't have an infinite amount of money, ”he said.

He would describe it as “immoral” if the DFB had to pay 30 million euros, which it would have to take away elsewhere in its budget in the end.

He also recalled that coaches and officials from the DFB had switched to clubs and named the coaches Manuel Baum (for Schalke 04) and Hannes Wolf (for Bayer Leverkusen) and, years ago, Matthias Sammer for FC Bayern.

"No money was paid and none was asked for."
