Wiesbaden / Berlin (dpa / lhe) - In Hesse, 751 new corona infections were registered within 24 hours.
This comes from data from the Berlin Robert Koch Institute on Monday (as of 3:09 a.m.).
There were another twelve deaths associated with the virus.
The nationwide incidence, i.e. the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days, increased to 179.5 from 177.1 the previous day.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, a total of 255 839 infections and 6754 deaths in connection with the virus have been reported in Hesse.
In the regions, the city of Offenbach continued to have the highest incidence at 318.5.
Five districts and the city of Kassel were above the value of 200.
The lowest values were in the Wetterau district (108.0) and the Werra-Meißner district (125.2).

According to the data in the intensive care register of the German Interdisciplinary Association for Intensive and Emergency Medicine (Divi), 471 corona patients were in intensive care units in hospitals in Hesse on Monday.
231 of them received invasive ventilation (as of 7.19 a.m.).
1728 of 1958 available intensive care beds were occupied, also by patients with other diseases.
