Sunday on Europe 1, the right-wing president of the Île-de-France region -France, Valérie Pécresse, was however very skeptical about this possible scenario.

"The French do not want the Le Pen-Macron match," she said.

"They don't want it, they say it all over the range, so this game won't take place, I'm sure of that."

"A powerful rejection of the population"

For her, who asserts that "the time for (political) campaigns has not come" because of the Covid-19 crisis, the equation is simple: "When there is such a powerful rejection of the population of an announced match, then that match does not take place ".
