April 25, 2021 The Ingenuity helicopter drone has made its third flight. This was announced by NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (Jpl), where the mission control center is located, awaiting the first images.

According to the program, in its third flight in the Martian sky Ingenuity was supposed to beat its personal speed record from 0.5 meters per second to 2 meters per second and reach 5 meters in altitude, as in its second flight on April 22, by moving 50 meters north and then back, for a total distance of 100 meters in about 80 seconds, to land in its airfield, dedicated to the Wright brothers.

Our #MarsHelicopter continues to set records, flying faster and farther.

The space chopper is demonstrating critical capabilities that could enable the addition of an aerial dimension to future missions to Mars & beyond.
