Berlin (dpa / bb) - A young woman is said to have been attacked by her former partner with a knife in a hostel in Berlin-Mitte and seriously injured in the process.
The 20-year-old was able to escape from a room in the lobby of the hostel in Köpenicker Strasse on Sunday night and ask for help there, as the police announced on Sunday.
She stated that her ex-partner stabbed her.
A little later, police officers stormed into the hostel with submachine guns and found a 24-year-old man in the room who also had badly bleeding injuries, a police spokesman said.
The two injured were reportedly taken to hospitals and operated on.
The man was arrested and is being monitored in the clinic.
A homicide commission from the State Criminal Police Office and the Berlin public prosecutor's office determine the exact course of events.
