Wolfsburg (AP) - The German women's soccer champions VfL Wolfsburg remain in the Bundesliga to leaders FC Bayern Munich.

In the first division comeback of national goalkeeper Almuth Schult, the Wolfsburg team won 4-0 (1-0) at MSV Duisburg on Sunday and reduced their deficit from first place to two points.

Alexandra Popp (32nd minute), Lena Oberdorf (49th), Rebecka Blomqvist (60th) and Fridolina Rolfö (67th) scored the goals for VfL.

Since the previous number one Katarzyna Kiedrzynek from Poland suffered a finger injury on her left hand during training, Schult was in goal for her first competitive game in almost two years.

The 30-year-old had twins in April 2020.
