Rostock (dpa / mv) - On Sunday, 108 new corona infections were reported in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania since the day before.

That was 80 new infections less than on Sunday a week ago, as the State Office for Health and Social Affairs (Lagus) announced on Sunday (as of 3:17 p.m.).

In the Hanseatic city of Rostock, the seven-day incidence rose just above the important threshold from 100 to 101.3, so that the value was no longer lower in any district or urban district in MV.

Nationwide, according to Lagus, 139.3 people per 100,000 inhabitants were verifiably infected with the corona virus within a week.

The value was highest in Ludwigslust-Parchim with 178, followed by the districts of Mecklenburg Lake District and Western Pomerania-Greifswald with 168.9 each.

Three more deaths related to corona infections were registered, bringing the total to 967.

The total number of corona infections detected so far in the northeast is 38 638. About 33 217 people are considered to have recovered.

As on Saturday, the number of corona patients treated in clinics is 308. The number of corona patients in intensive care units also remained unchanged at 92. A week ago, the number of corona patients in clinics in the country was 272. 72 were back then in intensive care units.
