- It feels fantastic fun that we are now going from a good idea to looking at how it could be realized, says Jonas Andersson who is CEO of Oslo-Stockholm 2.55, the publicly owned company that runs the issue of a high-speed train connection between the capitals.

It was on Friday that the Minister of Infrastructure announced via social media that he had talks with his Norwegian ministerial colleague about the high-speed train connection between Stockholm and Oslo and that they agreed to start work on looking at how this could be realized.

- I'm happy and a little relieved.

I think we have shown what great significance the project would have and that it is realistic and possible to implement it, says Jonas Andersson about the message.

What does yesterday's message mean in concrete terms?

- Now this will be a formal assignment from both the Swedish and Norwegian governments to the relevant authorities to start the work.

It is a giant step forward, says Jonas Andersson who believes and hopes that it will be possible to travel between Stockholm and Oslo in less than three hours in the early 2030s.
