Dresden (dpa / lsw) - The volleyball players from Allianz MTV Stuttgart missed the second German championship title after 2019.

The Swabians lost the decisive fifth playoff final game in Dresden on Saturday with 0: 3 (20:25, 23:25, 24:26).

In the exciting best-of-five series, the Stuttgart women had already led 2-0, but missed the necessary third win.

Dresden won three games in a row and won the series 3-2.

For Dresden it is the sixth championship title and the first after 2016.

After 2015 and 2016, both teams faced each other for the third time in a final series and the Swabians had to admit defeat to the DSC for the third time.

In the decisive games, the Stuttgart women had to do without their sick exceptional talent Krystal Rivers.

Both teams started the game highly motivated.

In the middle of the first sentence, the hosts set themselves apart thanks to powerful and tactically clever tasks.

In the second round the DSC women were already leading 10: 7, but Stuttgart came up.

In the decisive phase, however, Dresden acted more compactly and had the better solutions ready in the attack.

The third section went back and forth.

In the close final phase, the DSC women kept their nerve and with a block from Camilla Weitzel they turned the first match point.
