Stuttgart (dpa) - Immediately before the federal and state vaccination summit, Baden-Württemberg asked the Federal Ministry of Health to remove hurdles for company doctors.

"The companies are ready and can and want to get involved in the vaccination," writes the Stuttgart Ministry of Social Affairs in a letter that is available to the German Press Agency.

The prerequisite for this, however, is that company doctors from pharmaceutical wholesalers and pharmacies are supplied with vaccines.

So far, the vaccination centers in the federal states have to take care of it.

"That slows down the entire process and demands the vaccination centers as logistics companies, which they are not," complains the head of the Ministry of Social Affairs, Uwe Lahl.

In addition, there are still unanswered questions about the remuneration of company doctors.

The payment is basically fixed, but in practice there are still problems.

Lahl asks the Federal Ministry of Health to clarify with the National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians how the company doctors should bill exactly.

At the vaccination summit this Monday, the federal and state governments want to talk about prioritization in vaccination, logistics and special rights for vaccinated people.

In Baden-Württemberg, after the general practitioners, the company doctors are now supposed to vaccinate more and more.

The first model test is to begin in the next few days, and then those over 60 will be vaccinated.

In the letter, the Ministry of Social Affairs asks the federal government again for a quick vaccine delivery.

"Baden-Württemberg can inoculate a million doses of vaccine per week and asks for delivery!", Writes the head of the office.

The company doctors played an important role.

"In the next step, however, the companies can make their contribution, particularly in vaccinating the younger population, which is particularly contributing to the increasing number of infections."
