Berlin (dpa / bb) - In a robbery in Berlin-Reinickendorf, a man was injured by strangers by kicks and blows.

The three alleged perpetrators first asked the 48-year-old for a cigarette on Saturday night when leaving the Residenzstrasse subway station, the police said on Saturday.

After he denied it, one of the men is said to have hit him suddenly in the face.

According to the information, the two accomplices tried to take away the man's suitcase and backpack.

However, he held onto his belongings and fell onto the sidewalk while tugging.

The attackers are said to have kicked, hit and pulled their face across the floor until they called out for help.

He came to the hospital with a laceration on his head, bruises on his face and abrasions.

Glasses and cell phone are said to have been stolen from him.
