Frankfurt / Main (dpa) - The new regulations for night exit restrictions in regions with high corona numbers have not yet affected flight operations at Lufthansa and its sister brand Eurowings.

"With our flight offer, we also get a low minimum connectivity and thus give German citizens in particular the security of being able to do socially or economically important tasks or to come home," said a Lufthansa spokeswoman on Saturday.

This also applies to Eurowings.

The spokeswoman said that the flight connections would also be used by diplomats.

"In addition, we use the freight capacities in the passenger aircraft for necessary transports and to maintain the value chain."

Night exit restrictions have been in effect in many regions since Saturday.

This applies to counties and cities in which the seven-day incidence on three days was over 100 per 100,000 inhabitants.

While business trips are not affected, the emergency brake applies to tourist trips.

This may affect vacationers whose flights arrive late in the evening or start early.

The industry association BDL had demanded that politicians should clarify as quickly as possible that travel to and from international flights was not subject to regional and constantly changing curfews.
