Berlin (dpa / bb) - The men of the Berlin HC started with a victory in the quarter-final playoffs of the 1st field hockey Bundesliga.

The capital club won the first of a maximum of three games against UHC Hamburg 3-0 (0-0) on Saturday.

Before that, the BHC women had clearly lost their first duel with Meister Club an der Alster with 0: 6 (0: 3).

"We are of course disappointed," said ladies trainer Stan Huijsmans.

«We knew that Alster was strong.

But we have to do our own thing and that wasn't enough today. "

In the men's national team, Jonas Gomoll (31st minute) gave the hosts the lead at the beginning of the third quarter, before Tom Neßelhauf (53rd) increased to 2-0 in the final section.

The final score was again marked by Gomoll (55th) with a hit in the empty UHC goal.

The only thing missing for the BHC next weekend in the “best-of-three” series is one win in Hamburg to qualify for the final four on 8/9.

May qualify in Mannheim.
