Belarusian President Lukashenko said on the 24th local time that in order to carry out the coup, the rebels set up several scenarios, including assassination of the head of state at the Victory Day parade and attacking the presidential motorcade and outskirts of official residences.

According to Lukashenko, the insurgents initially planned to assassinate the president at the Victory Day parade on May 9, but this idea was quite difficult to implement in the country, so they abandoned the first option.

Subsequently, the insurgents began to consider attacking the presidential motorcade and even bought bazookas for this purpose.

However, the implementation of this program has not been successful, because the team is moving fast due to safety considerations, and the chance of hitting is very small.

The third option is to attack the president’s residence in the suburbs.

In order to destroy the mansion, the insurgents allocated 10 million U.S. dollars, and the reward for the snipers alone reached 1 million U.S. dollars.

However, the White government had already predicted this plan and closely monitored the whereabouts of the assassins.

Lukashenko said that among the insurgents was a former agent of the national intelligence service, who served as a general in the rebel army.

The insurgents even wanted to use him to launch an army to carry out an armed coup.

On April 17, Lukashenko announced the arrest of a group of insurgents who attempted to assassinate the president himself and his son.

According to Lukashenko, the US intelligence service was involved in this operation.

The National Security Council of Belarus stated that in addition to the assassination of Lukashenko, the rebels also attempted to carry out an armed coup and seize power by violence.
