Wolfsburg (dpa / lni) - VfL Wolfsburg suffered another setback in the race for the Champions League places.

The third place in the Bundesliga table lost 0: 2 (0: 1) to direct rivals Borussia Dortmund on Saturday despite being outnumbered by half an hour.

The Norwegian Erling Haaland scored both goals for BVB in the 12th and 68th minute.

For the first hit, the 20-year-old used a failed back pass from Wolfsburg's Ridle Baku.

The 2-0 was preceded by a bad pass from John Anthony Brooks.

The Dortmund Jew Bellingham saw yellow-red in the 59th minute.

Just three weeks ago, VfL had eleven points ahead of BVB after their home defeat in Dortmund against Eintracht Frankfurt.

Four Dortmund wins and three own defeats later, this gap has melted down to just two points.

Borussia is now hoping for at least one more Wolfsburg mistake in the last few games.

The opponents of VfL are Union Berlin, RB Leipzig and the currently strong FSV Mainz 05.
