Braunschweig (AP) - The Braunschweig public prosecutor has indicted 15 other people in the investigation into the diesel affair at Volkswagen.

Several executives of the VW Group and a supplier are affected, as Chief Public Prosecutor Klaus Ziehe said of the German Press Agency in Braunschweig.

The accused are accused of aiding and abetting fraud with tax evasion, aiding and abetting indirect false certification and criminal advertising.

In this case, too, the Braunschweig Regional Court must decide whether to admit the indictment.

A court spokesman confirmed receipt of the files.

In the case of ex-CEO Martin Winterkorn and four other managers, the court has already admitted the indictment for commercial and gang fraud, but the process was recently postponed to September due to corona.

In two other NOx proceedings in the emissions scandal, the public prosecutor has charged 14 VW employees.

However, a decision has not yet been made on the opening of main proceedings.

The "Dieselgate" scandal was uncovered in September 2015 as a result of investigations by US environmental authorities and scientists.
