A group consisting of those responsible for healthcare throughout Skåne was given the task of analyzing the risk of the new ambulance organization, which will take effect on 1 May.

In mid-April, it was ready.

Point by point, the group criticizes the new organization and points to a high risk of medical injuries.

- There is an obvious risk that patients' safety is threatened, says the emergency manager in Helsingborg, Håkan Kerrén.

The focus of the criticism is the current manned IVA ambulance, which today drives intensive care patients between different hospitals.

Not educated

It disappears from 1 May.

New ambulances are then in place, but the hospitals must send IVA-trained staff with the transports.

- It depletes our own IVA departments and we need our resources here.

In addition, they are not trained for medical care in ambulances, says Håkan Kerrén.

He is also critical of the lack of information.

- Only in March did we learn that on May 1 we will close the iva ambulance.

Had we been able to act earlier, we could have had a better solution in place.

Unhappy with such a short time

Karin Fristedt is hospital manager in Helsingborg.

- We now have to look at how to do in the future with organizational changes so that it will not be so short in time.

I think you can get a good solution but it is unfortunate that it has become like this.
