According to figures from SMC, in 2020 around 10,000 new registrations of motorcycles were made for private individuals in Sweden.

That is 1,300 more than the year before, a larger increase compared to the years before that.

Cecilila von Hausswolff believes, among other things, that the increase is due to more people wanting out into the open.

- I also think that many have had more time.

Some may have been on part-time leave and then you have both the time and perhaps the finances to get a motorcycle, she says.

Hope positive trend continues

Despite the increase, there were fewer serious accidents in 2020 and SMC Södermanland hopes that the trend will continue.

For the coming season, motorcyclists and all other road users are now encouraged to show consideration and to think about.

What can motorcyclists think of to drive safely next season?
