Munich (dpa / lby) - In Bavaria, all health authorities are now connected to the Luca contact tracking software.

"This means that the Luca system can be used free of charge throughout Bavaria for corona-compliant guest registration and contact tracking," said the Digital Ministry in Munich on Friday.

With the Luca app, people can use a so-called QR code to check in to restaurants, for example.

The data ends up with the 76 health authorities;

Contact persons could then be identified in the event of an infection and informed via the smartphone application.

However, the software is controversial.

The Chaos Computer Club had criticized possible data protection problems.

The Bavarian Association of the Blind and Visually Impaired had declared that the app was not barrier-free.

Without help, the blind would not be able to use the program.
