Berlin / Amsterdam (dpa) - With the rapid advances in corona vaccinations in Germany, more freedom for vaccinated people is drawing closer.

The federal and state governments want to discuss this at a top round this Monday, as Health Minister Jens Spahn (CDU) announced.

According to the European Medicines Agency (EMA), the preparation of Astrazeneca, which is currently less in demand due to thrombosis cases, can also be injected without restriction.

The blood clots occur on average in one in 100,000 vaccinated people, according to the EMA experts.

On the other hand, there is the very strong reduction in serious Covid 19 diseases, they emphasized in an analysis presented in Amsterdam.

The risk of cerebral vein thrombosis is higher in the under-60s than in the elderly.

But even with the younger ones, the advantages predominate.

In Germany, 59 cases of thrombosis after Astrazeneca vaccination were reported by mid-April.

Twelve people died.

The vaccine was administered to more than 4.2 million German citizens.

But Spahn was also optimistic because of constant deliveries from Biontech / Pfizer.

According to EU Commission chief Ursula von der Leyen, the announced EU contract for the purchase of another 1.8 billion Biontech cans is almost ready.

"We'll close in the next few days," she said while visiting a Pfizer plant in Puurs, Belgium.

The cans should be delivered by 2023.

The aim is to boost vaccinations and immunize the 70 to 80 million children in the EU.

POSITIVE VOTE ON JOHNSON & JOHNSON:

With the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, which also hit the headlines, the permanent vaccination commission in Germany does not currently provide for an age limit, as announced by the President of the Paul Ehrlich Institute (PEI), Klaus Cichutek.

According to US data, there was one case of thrombosis for every million vaccinations.

Spahn had announced a timely extradition.

At Astrazenca, Cichutek described the existing possibility for under-60-year-olds as "sensible" to find out about possible risks and to discuss them with the doctor.

Bavaria, Berlin, Saxony and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania had announced that practices can inject the Astrazeneca vaccine to everyone.

As a rule, it should be vaccinated against people over the age of 60.

MORE RIGHTS FOR VACCINATED PEOPLE:

What restrictions are there for vaccinated people?

According to Spahn, this ethically sensitive question should be at the center of the planned Prime Minister's Conference this Monday.

One aspect is: "How do I treat fully vaccinated people in relation to those who tested negative on the day?"

Full vaccination protection can be equated with a negative test result.

According to Spahn, this applies to the elimination of the quarantine obligation after contact with an infected person, the rules for entry regulations and opening steps for shops, for example.

Another question is: "Can you still impose contact restrictions on someone who is fully vaccinated?"

The government is preparing an overview of the legal issues for the round of country leaders.

Whether there will be decisions is open.

The federal government could make possible implementations with the authorization for ordinances introduced in the Infection Protection Act - with the consent of the Bundestag and Bundesrat.

Vaccine on stockpile:

Medical President Klaus Reinhardt criticized the editorial network Germany that "more than five million vaccine doses are stored unused".

Spahn rejected that.

Until the next delivery at the beginning of the week, two of the four million cans currently held back would be inoculated.

The rest are scheduled.

Few 100,000 of the Astrazenenca vaccine are not vaccinated.

The popularity of Astrazeneca has decreased somewhat.

But in his estimation, millions of people would take it as soon as enough of it was delivered, said Spahn.

In the opinion of the minister, Astrazeneca should preferably be used for people over 60 - but in terms of quantity alone, the other vaccines would also be needed for them.

HOW FROM THE VACCINATION CAMPAIGN?

According to von der Leyens, the majority of EU citizens can be vaccinated against the coronavirus much earlier than originally thought.

She is confident that there will be enough vaccine in July to vaccinate 70 percent of adults in the EU, she said in Puurs.

So far, this goal was targeted for September 21st.

Spahn said in Berlin that the current fixed vaccination sequence in Germany can be expected to end in June.

That doesn't mean that everyone can be given an appointment right away.

The German Foundation for Patient Protection warned, but then more and more people asked for their vaccination.

Pandora's box would be opened.

Overall, Spahn was optimistic.

"What makes me confident is that our main supplier Biontech delivers very reliably."

Of around 80 million cans, 50 million would come from this manufacturer.

Astrazeneca and Johnson & Johnson also wanted to keep their quarterly promises.

In June, the vaccinations by the company doctors would be added.

22.2 percent of the population are currently vaccinated at least once.

SPUTNIK V:

It is still unclear whether the Russian vaccine Sputnik V will be used in Germany.

A prerequisite is an approval in the EU, for which manufacturer data would still have to be supplied, said Spahn.

The vaccine also has to come on time so that it makes any difference at all.

Foreign Minister Heiko Maas (SPD) said during a visit to Belgrade that at the moment "the media attention for the 30 million vaccine doses from Russia - when they come - seems a bit high".

The Saxon Prime Minister Michael Kretschmer (CDU) had said that Germany wanted to purchase 30 million cans of Sputnik V.

A LIFE WITHOUT CORONA?

According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the vaccinations will not be able to wipe out Corona in the foreseeable future.

Corona will establish itself as a virus that can be dealt with.

Maybe it will spread more and more seasonally.

RKI Vice Lars Schaade said that a “basic immunity” was achievable.

There will also be groups who could not or did not want to be vaccinated or for whom vaccinations because of previous illnesses did not work as well.

Vaccinations for children, for example, are not yet possible.

The preparation from Biontech / Pfizer is approved for ages 16 and up.

The results of studies on Biontech and Moderna with children are not yet available.
