"Today, the Russian chargé d'affaires took advantage of a meeting at the State Department to firmly reject baseless accusations against Russia of destabilizing actions in the Euro-Atlantic region," the US embassy said in a statement on Twitter.

At the same time, the Department of State Department for European and Eurasian Affairs said that the Russian attorney expressed concern about Moscow's actions and demonstrated "full support for the Czech Republic."

Earlier, the press secretary of the Russian leader Dmitry Peskov noted that Russia was not the initiator of the deterioration of relations with the United States and is interested in improving them.

On April 14, American Ambassador John Sullivan was invited to the assistant of the Russian leader, Yuri Ushakov, who recommended that the diplomat go to the United States and hold serious and detailed consultations there after the announced anti-Russian sanctions.

Sullivan arrived in Washington on April 23rd.
