• On May 1, an audio job search platform is launched online.

  • It is intended to facilitate access to employment for low-skilled people who are rejected by traditional recruitment models.

  • The platform expects 10,000 registrations for its first year of activity.

With gOtaf, no stress associated with spelling or finding the right formula for your cover letter.

This audio platform intends to facilitate the job search for people who for various reasons are not comfortable with writing and traditional dedicated sites.

From May 1, the Bordeaux site offers candidates to view audio offers but also to apply by submitting an oral recorded application.

Co-founder Jean-Muriel Azonhoume explains to

20 Minutes

all the advantages of a model that he believes has a bright future.

Is this the first such platform?

Yes, we insist on the fact that Gotaf is the first audio job search platform.

If the reading by a robot of the offer or the CV already exists, this is the first time that the complete interaction between the employer and the candidate takes place in voice.

How did the idea of such a platform come about?

I have a cousin who was having difficulty finding a job.

By looking at the offers to which she was applying, I realized that in general it was very difficult to read and complicated to understand the recruiter's expectations.

The communication channel is very important and the easiest way for everyone to understand the job posting is to say it.

Many people find it difficult to apply because they have, for example, problems with dyslexia, illiteracy or they have poor digital skills.

So why not talk to each other?

Orally, do you also need to have good speech skills and know how to show off?

We are not saying that we erase all forms of blocking and discrimination, but we are saying that we are more facilitators with an audio format.

People are more used to leaving a message on an answering machine.

And, it is not a presentation that we make in front of the recruiter, we have time to record different versions until it corresponds to the image we want to give.

If they wish, job seekers are supported on the site by a tutorial system.

We leave it to the prescribers to go further in the support, if the need arises.

What types of offers are you targeting?

We are interested in offers that concern jobs in tension (services, construction, catering, trade and logistics) and which do not require very important qualifications, always with the aim of making it simple and that people have chances of winning. the job offer they are applying to.

For the offers, we have established a partnership with Pôle Emploi and the “diversity and inclusion” platform, supplied by groups for integration.

Some offers are very short, the aim is to give the essential information: the name of the employer, the salary, the location, the hours, etc.

We add audio questions on the offers, which can be answered by yes or no and we obtain a score, a match, which is made available to the employer and the candidate.

Is the service chargeable?

It is free for applicants and paid for for companies.

We sell the provision of the offer on the platform.

Clearly, they pay to promote their offer in a specific format and some are produced with the voices of actors who work with us and read offers, according to the recruiter's needs.

What goal have you set for this first year?

We are targeting 10,000 people registered.

It's ambitious but we think, given the rise of several uses of the voice (clubhouse, podcasts, voice search on google etc.) that in a few years, it will be a predominant way of applying and recruiting.
