Berlin (dpa) - Tübingen's Lord Mayor Boris Palmer has accused politicians of lack of ideas in the fight against the corona pandemic.

“We can think of nothing except bans and lockdowns,” said the Green politician on Friday in RTL / ntv “early start”.

"We could have got through the crisis much better with digitization, with vaccinations, with tests, with the protection of risk groups."

The Baden-Württemberg town of Tübingen has caused a sensation over the past six weeks with its model project.

Residents could go to theaters, shops or museums with daily corona tests.

In the city itself, the seven-day incidence was last below 100, in the district it was significantly higher.

“We are now open for six weeks and our numbers are better than in the emergency brake.

You'd have to ask, why don't everyone do it like we do? ”Said Palmer.

The project is now ending because of the decided but sharply criticized Corona emergency brake and the high number of infections in the entire district.

“A lot of people in town are disappointed now, too,” said Palmer.
