Already launched in his presidential campaign, Jean-Luc Mélenchon does not want to experience the same mishaps as Donald Trump, whose accounts had been suspended on social networks in the midst of the battle for the White House.

His movement, La France insoumise (LFI), has therefore developed its own platform.

It is a 100% rebellious social network which was presented this Thursday. You can find campaign events there, create or join a support group for Jean-Luc Mélenchon or even exchange via the application's messaging system. But “Popular Action”, that's its name, is not just a political object according to the head of digital tools at La France insoumise.

“

We have this need to build a social network that allows rebellious people to stay connected in any situation,”

says Jill Maud Royer

.

Large companies allow themselves to make their own law about who has the right to speak on their platform, regardless of court decisions.

It was seen with Donald Trump, but it was also seen with people closer to us like Podemos in Spain.

 "

The WhatsApp account of the Spanish party, which had 55,000 subscribers, had in fact been suspended in spring 2019, a week before the legislative elections, accused by the parent company of the messaging company, Facebook, of not having respected the conditions of use. .

"

There is a real Facebook policy today to limit political content on its platform and which affects everyone including which endangers the people who used this platform really to organize the democratic debate

", adds Jill Maud Royer .

The rebellious France has therefore made the choice of independence by internally developing this social network.

This will not prevent Jean Luc Mélenchon, connected candidate, from continuing to use the commercial platforms such as Twitter, YouTube, Twitch and other TikTok.
