Berlin (dpa / bb) - With the nationwide uniform Corona emergency brake coming into force, night exit restrictions and, in some cases, tightened contact restrictions will apply in Berlin from 12:00 a.m. on Saturday.

In addition, museums and galleries have to close again.

The health administration announced this on Friday when asked by the dpa.

The basis is the Infection Protection Act, which the Bundestag passed on Wednesday and the Bundesrat confirmed on Thursday.

Accordingly, the emergency brake applies in regions in which the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants is stable over 100 within a week.

That is the case in Berlin.
