Erfurt (dpa / th) - The number of daily new corona infections has fallen back below the 1000 mark in Thuringia.
From Thursday to Friday, the health authorities reported 789 new cases, as the Ministry of Health announced, citing figures from the Berlin Robert Koch Institute.
In the 24 hours before, there were 1081 new infections.
The incidence, which indicates the number of new cases per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days, fell further to around 223 (previous day 232).
However, this does not change anything in Thuringia's status as the worst affected state by the pandemic.
With the Saale-Orla district, which has an incidence of a good 377, a Thuringian district also remains the number one corona hotspot among the districts nationwide.
Since the pandemic began, 111 150 people in Thuringia have been infected with the corona virus.
3702 infected people died.
97 550 people are considered to have recovered.
