April 23, 2021 Alexei Navalny's doctors urged the Russian opponent to immediately end the hunger strike he is conducting in prison, warning him that otherwise he could die.



"If the hunger strike continues even for a minimum period of time, unfortunately, we simply will soon have no one to treat," they said in a statement. Doctors, who have been denied access to Navalny, say that the their conclusions are based on the results of Navalny's tests last Tuesday.



The tests were carried out in a hospital in the city of Vladimir, east of Moscow. Doctors - who had treated the opposition leader before he was imprisoned - warn that Navalny's kidney and nervous system problems suggest he could die. soon if the hunger strike continues.
