Baden-Baden (dpa) - The Baden-Baden regional court ruled this Friday (1.30 p.m.) on a case of multiple serious sexual abuse of children.

The prosecutor wants to convict a 64-year-old man in 136 cases.

She accused her grandfather of having sexually abused several girls, some seriously, from 2005 to 2019 in Bühl, Baden-Württemberg (Rastatt district).

In court, the man confessed.

The man is said to have molested a girl from the neighborhood and five friends of his granddaughters in his house and elsewhere.

According to the prosecution, the victims were between five and eleven years old at the time of the offenses.

The deeds only became known in January 2020.

The defendant has been in custody since his arrest in the summer.

"The investigations turned out to be particularly time-consuming, as a number of children had to be questioned by a judge, victim reports had to be drawn up and statements of psychology had to be obtained," said the public prosecutor in advance.

She originally charged the man with 180 abuse counts.

The prosecution now refrained from 44 cases because they would not have been detectable without further interrogation of the girls, it said.
