Wiesbaden (dpa / lhe) - In its second public meeting, the committee of inquiry into the Walter Lübcke murder case in the Hessian state parliament will again hear experts on Friday.

According to a spokesman, the issue of the protection of the constitution should be the focus.

Invited are Benjamin Rusteberg, who is currently teaching as a legal scholar at the Georg-August University in Göttingen, and Prof. Gunter Warg from the Federal University for Public Administration in Brühl.

The investigation committee is supposed to work on the role of the Hessian security authorities in the murder case Lübcke.

The Kassel district president was killed in 2019.

The Frankfurt Higher Regional Court sentenced Stephan Ernst to life imprisonment at the end of January 2021.

The court saw it as proven that the German shot the CDU politician.

The motives: right-wing extremism and xenophobia.

In the meantime, all those involved in the proceedings have appealed against the judgment.
