Krefeld (dpa / lnw) - Ex-trainer Stefan Krämer spoke about extremely difficult working conditions at the relegation-threatened and financially troubled third division soccer team KFC Uerdingen.

"This year it was a disaster," said the 54-year-old in an interview with "Magenta Sport": "In retrospect, it was of course a mistake to do it again."

When investor Mikhail Ponomarew left, the 1985 DFB Cup winner had to file for bankruptcy. According to Krämer, whose second term in office again ended with a dismissal in mid-April, some of the salaries came two to three months later. The young players in particular suffered from this. “We arranged it internally in such a way that the guys who have been on the road for a bit longer and could afford it formed a big pot. Money was put in there and the guys who had problems with the lack of payments with the rent or whatever, they were able to get money out of it, ”said Krämer.

The training conditions were also inadequate.

«The worst thing for me as a soccer coach was that we didn't have any space.

For me that is the most unimaginable thing that you have not had a training ground as a professional football club for months, ”said Krämer.

That only got better under the new investor and partner Roman Gevorkyan.

According to the latest media reports, the KFC are in debt of ten million euros.

Uerdingen is 18th in the 3rd division two points behind a non-relegation place.
