Napoli will not give up in the battle for the Champions League and demonstrated it vividly against Lazio (5-2), while Roma and Atalanta neutralized each other (1-1), a points sharing that does not satisfy anyone.

After these two spectacular shocks at the end of the 32nd day of Serie A, the fight promises to be ever more intense for the allocation of the three tickets remaining in play (Inter having almost preempted the fourth).

Four candidates (Milan, Atalanta, Juventus and Napoli) now stand in three points.

And Lazio, despite the stoppage of the evening after five consecutive victories, has not said its last word, as long as it wins its late match against Torino and that it revives on Monday against Milan.

Nothing smiled at the start of the match for Ciro Immobile and his teammates: neither the VAR which awarded a questionable penalty to the Neapolitans (Lorenzo Insigne, 7th), nor the post which returned a shot from Joaquin Correa (19th).

The Neapolitans have them chained goals all more beautiful than the others by Matteo Politano flush with the post (12th), Lorenzo Insigne with a clever lob (53rd) then Dries Mertens without control (65th) to lead 4-0.

Victor Osimhen, entered in place of the Belgian, sealed a success (80th) that the Laziali tried to challenge by returning to 4-2 (Immobile, 70th, then Milinkovic-Savic, 74th).

- "We will have to fight" -

Naples continues its good series at the Maradona stadium: seven wins and one draw (against Inter).

In Rome, Atalanta could undoubtedly have scored as much but the best attack in the championship showed a rare clumsiness, settling for a goal, signed Ruslan Malinvoskyi (26th).

"It is difficult to explain how some goals can be missed," remarked coach Gian Piero Gasperini who was probably thinking of the failure of Luis Muriel (64th) in the second half, which would have allowed the Bergamasques to logically lead 2-0 .

Moments later, the Dea found itself at ten, after a second warning for Robin Gosens (69th), allowing Roma, so far arch-dominated, to finally find spaces to equalize, on a strike from Bryan Cristante (75th).

This sharing of points does not suit either of the two teams.

Atalanta misses the opportunity to take second place after the defeat of Milan on Wednesday and remains tied for third with Juventus (4th).

"Six matches are missing, we will have to fight," said the "Gasp".

Roma (7th), it confirms its inability to win against the top teams and remains ten points from fourth place.

Retaining the "personality" of his team who knew how to react, the giallorosso coach Paolo Fonseca knows however that the best chance of Roma to see the C1 next season will be more than ever to create the feat in the Europa League, with on the road to the final ogre Manchester United.
