Hamburg (dpa / lno) - With the exams in English, the written Abitur exams begin today in Hamburg.

9,900 high school graduates from grammar schools, district schools and vocational schools will take their written exams by May 18.

Maths and natural sciences are scheduled for the first week of May, with Russian as a foreign language at the end.

It is already the second year of high school graduation in the corona crisis.

Strict hygiene plans apply to the tests.

Rapid tests are mandatory, but masks may be removed from the table during the exam.

In order to compensate for the difficult conditions, among other things, the exams were postponed by a week in order to create more time for preparation.

In addition, the students get 30 minutes more time to complete the tasks.

So-called operators - these are explanations of the task - are also intended to ensure that the tasks are properly understood.
