It was a grandson of Karl Viktor Olsson in Texas who contacted the Blekinge museum, to find out if they were interested in letter correspondence he had received from his relatives in Sweden.

- She was afraid that it would disappear or be thrown away, so she thought it was better that it came "home", says Christoffer Sandahl at Blekinge museum.

Emigrated in 1907

Karl Viktor Olsson was born in Tving in the 19th century.

In 1907 he emigrated with several siblings to Minneapolis.

- Karl Viktor was a farmer in the countryside and had a hard time.

He wanted to test his luck in the USA, says Christoffer Sandahl, unit manager at Blekinge museum.

Two of Karl Viktor's sisters remained in Blekinge and it is their letter correspondence that has been donated and which will eventually be exhibited at the museum.
