"The Ministry of Transport of Canada has issued a notice for pilots to suspend all commercial and private flights from India and Pakistan for 30 days ... April 22, 2021," TASS reports.

The department clarified that such measures are being introduced in connection with the increased risk of importing new strains of coronavirus into the country, which may negatively affect the Canadian health care system.

Earlier in the UK, they announced the discovery of an Indian strain of coronavirus, which may be more infectious than the Brazilian and South African variants.

On April 21, it was reported that another new strain of coronavirus infection COVID-19 was detected in the Indian state of West Bengal.

Later, in three regions of India, a triple mutation of the coronavirus was discovered, caused by the combination of three different strains of COVID-19.
