Eleven Bolivian deputies and senators traveled to the United States for a meeting at the headquarters of the Organization of American States (OAS).
They spoke with Luis Almagro, the secretary general to denounce the “
flagrant violation
” of human rights in the country at present.
They spoke of a justice that today would be an instrument of political persecution, in the current context of the arrests of political and military figures involved in the crisis of November 2019, when Evo Morales had to leave power.
For parliamentarians, the visit is a success.
They consider that they have obtained the full attention of the OAS.
"
We were assured that the organization was attentive to the problems taking place in Bolivia, that these problems are a priority and that a permanent observation of the situation has been put in place,
" said Centa Rek, senator of the party of extreme right Creemos.
On the side of the majority of the Movement Towards Socialism, the party of ex-president
Evo Morales
, these parliamentarians are considered to be traitors who undermine the sovereignty of the country by seeking the intromission of an international organization.
For the majority, in
November 2019
, there was a coup d'état and those responsible must now be punished.
