Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny announced that he would end the hunger strike through a post on his Instagram.
The imprisoned dissident had been on a hunger strike since March 31 to demand medical examinations from outside the prison, which has finally happened.
His followers had denounced that his health was extremely delicate.
Several opposition allies asked him in the last hours to stop the protest.
"Considering the progress and the circumstances, I am beginning to come out of the hunger strike. According to the protocols, it will also take 24 days and, they say, it is even more difficult. So wish me good luck," Navalny wrote.
