In an attempt to reduce the spread of infection, the school management, led by school principal Kristina Rastbäck, has made the decision, which will initially include five school days.

The decision is valid from Monday 26 April until Friday 30 April.

A new decision will be made on Wednesday 28 April for week 18.

Tops the list

Västernorrland currently has the highest spread of infection in Sweden and Örnsköldsvik is the municipality that tops the list.

Region Västernorrland states that the spread of infection in the county is highest in the age group 15-19 years.

The spread is also increasing greatly among 40-44 and 50-54-year-olds.

For some time now, the sevens and eights at Örnsköldsvik's high school have already been at a distance, while the nines have been in school.

The measures are now being tightened further in an attempt to avoid the spread of infection.
