An impressive rescue scene which failed to save the victim.
Around 2 p.m. on Wednesday, while traveling on the A43 at Saint-Didier-de-la-Tour (Isère), in the direction of Lyon, a motorist noticed a car moving dangerously, making large swerves on the road.
The man in his thirties was quick to understand that the driver of the vehicle, his head resting on his steering wheel, had just become unwell while driving.
He then set out to stop this fast-moving Peugeot by placing his car in front and gradually slowing down until the two vehicles stopped on the motorway, reports
Le Progrès.
Helped by another motorist who witnessed the scene, the man then broke the driver's window in bad shape to help him and start performing cardiac massage.
In cardiopulmonary arrest when the emergency services arrived, supported by a medical team sent by helicopter, the man, a 57-year-old resident of Meyzieu, could not be saved.
He died on the A43 after an hour of resuscitation attempt.
