Bremen (dpa) - Despite the sporting downturn and six defeats in a row, coach Florian Kohfeldt is still not available at Werder Bremen.
"I have no doubt that Florian is the right trainer for us," said managing director Frank Baumann on Thursday the multimedia portal deichstube.de.
The Bremen team lost 1-0 (0-1) to FSV Mainz 05 on Wednesday evening and set a negative record with their sixth consecutive defeat.
But unlike all the other clubs in the table cellar, Werder does not want to change coach.
Last season, those responsible had held on to Kohfeldt despite the threat of relegation and a lot of criticism.
In the relegation, the rescue against the second division third 1. FC Heidenheim finally succeeded.
"Florian has shown that he is a good coach and can cope with difficult phases of the season," said Baumann.
