As SVT has previously reported, a new ward for covid patients with acute needs has been opened at Oskarshamn Hospital.

The first patients were received late on Tuesday evening, but it was only after an inspection by the Swedish Work Environment Authority that the department could be opened.

The Swedish Work Environment Authority wants to see more risk assessments, but they have not yet specified which ones.

- It will be a continued work to supplement the risk assessments together with the Healthcare Association, says Johan Rosenqvist, director of health and medical care.

"It is terrible" The

reason for the ban on safety offers was that shortcomings had been pointed out for several weeks, says Pernilla Petersson, vice chairman and chief safety representative in the Care Association of Kalmar County.

- Our members know nothing about when to work, and they have already been a turn to Kalmar County Hospital and worked.

Not being able to know from day to day how to work, not being able to plan leaving children in kindergarten and so on, it is terrible.

The situation for healthcare in the Kalmar region is currently very serious. At a press conference on Thursday, Johan Rosenqvist said that all regions will need to scale up capacity to meet the need for care. Exactly how it should go is the question to be solved.
