Schwerin (dpa / mv) - In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, 59 cases in connection with the prepper scene have been investigated by a commission.

This emerges from the preliminary final report published on Thursday by the Schwerin Ministry of the Interior, which is as of March 2020.

The commission was therefore set up in November 2017.

According to its own statements, the department now had to publish this preliminary report because an administrative court had given a plaintiff right who had sued for this publication.

"A targeted influence in the sense of infiltration of the prepper scene by extremists could not be determined," says the report.

The Attorney General has been investigating two members of the “Nordkreuz” prepper group for several years on suspicion of preparing a serious, state-endangering act of violence.

In the latest report of the State Office for the Protection of the Constitution, this group is classified as right-wing extremist.

According to the Ministry of the Interior, the Federal Public Prosecutor's investigation continues.

The ministry said it wanted to wait for the results before the report was published because they were classified as relevant in the context of the prepper scene.
