The stranded humpback whale has aroused great interest and many visitors came to Mellby to study the large animal up close.

The municipality consults experts

How it will be with a possible autopsy is currently unclear.

Mörbylånga municipality is responsible for handling the dead animal in some way, but could not say on Wednesday how it will happen.

The municipality's response is that talks are underway with various experts, including the police and the Swedish Veterinary Institute, SVA.
