Hanover (dpa / lni) - The model projects initiated by the Lower Saxony state government to open up trade and gastronomy, coupled with rapid tests, cannot start for the time being.

The new rules of the federal emergency brake only allowed such projects up to a hard 100 limit for the seven-day incidence, said Health Minister Daniela Behrens (SPD) on Wednesday in the state parliament in Hanover.

Given these framework conditions, the current infection situation hardly allows for model projects.

Currently, only 15 municipalities in Lower Saxony have an incidence of 100 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days.
