Frankfurt / Main (dpa / lhe) - In the Hessian medical practices, more than 174,000 people received a first corona vaccination.

This is based on the data from the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) (as of April 21).

465 people in Hessen have already received both vaccinations from resident doctors.

The Astrazeneca product plays a subordinate role here.

According to the RKI, 152,000 people were vaccinated with Biontech / Pfizer and around 22,500 with Astrazeneca during the initial vaccinations in primary care practices in Hesse.

Only the vaccine from Moderna is even rarer with 35 first vaccinations.

In vaccination centers, mobile teams and hospitals in Hesse, the ratio of vaccines is different: Astrazeneca was vaccinated about half as often as Biontech / Pfizer, Moderna is the least common.

"Of course you can feel the unjustified image problem of this vaccine," said a spokesman for the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians in Hessen on the reluctance of patients.

In total, 1.23 million people in Hessen have been vaccinated once and almost half a million twice.

At 19.6 percent, the vaccination rate is lower than in any other federal state.
