Dusseldorf (dpa / lnw) - In the process of fraud with care services worth millions in Dusseldorf, the public prosecutor has demanded between three and a half and six years in prison for the five alleged main perpetrators.

She applied for suspended sentences for three co-defendants.

In the process, eight managing directors and employees of three nursing services from Düsseldorf have been responsible for fraud, money laundering and aiding and abetting in the past seven months.

According to the indictment, they cheated health insurances with not provided care services by more than 1.5 million euros by 2016 - with the knowledge of the patients.

In return, they received money from the nursing service or free services such as trips to the doctor, household help and interpreting services.

Three of the defendants had confessed before the trial began.

Several defenders are expected to plead next Friday.

The verdict could then be announced.
