Potsdam (dpa / bb) - The state is providing up to 6 million euros to co-finance Corona aid measures for Brandenburg's cultural institutions.

With the state funds already made available, projects of up to 60 million euros could be made possible, the Ministry of Culture announced on Wednesday.

As of now, creative and cultural institutions can apply for these funds quickly and unbureaucratically in addition to the federal government's immediate programs.

"The message to the artists and creatives in the country is: You deliver your enthusiasm and your ideas, we deliver the money," said Minister Manja Schüle (SPD).

All applications are co-financed according to the information that is approved through the federal program “Neustart Kultur”.

"In the best case, we get 9 euros from the federal government for every state euro," she said.

Every artist, every initiative that still has an idea in the drawer should apply for help.

According to the information, the program was able to co-finance the first projects last year.

This included the Gladhouse youth culture center in Cottbus and the event theater in the Fontane Klub in Brandenburg an der Havel.
