• PSOE Juan Espadas, the chosen one of Pedro Sánchez to separate Susana Díaz and woo Ciudadanos

The mayor of Seville, Juan Espadas, considers the debate within the Andalusian PSOE "healthy" and defends that "the most intelligent thing" is to "win a few months" and

advance the primaries

to choose the socialist candidate for the Junta and thus strengthen the leadership of the person who obtains "the support of the militancy", in case there is an electoral advance in Andalusia. Espadas is the candidate

in pectore

of the federal PSOE to run for the presidency of the Junta de Andalucía, to the detriment of Susana Díaz.

Espadas, who held meetings this Wednesday with the also socialist mayor of Jaén,

Julio Millán

, and with

Francisco Reyes

, president of the Jaén Provincial Council and provincial secretary of the PSOE of Jaén, pointed out, in statements to journalists, that "what we are seeing is the pronouncement by different groups »about a debate« that is open ».

He considers that what the PSOE has to do is "prepare a good project" for when the Andalusian elections are held and for this it is important "to

strengthen that leadership

and concentrate on that project as soon as possible."

Espadas assures that the PSOE is the owner of its time and therefore of managing it, and in this sense advancing the primary process allows the militancy to decide and from there, “whoever is and has the responsibility, because it is dedicated to concentrating precisely on the project to offer Andalusians ».

He also said that he is listening to all the PSOE colleagues so that

the project is a "winner"

and has insisted that "what should not be are personalist projects."

For his part, Francisco Reyes also assured that it is "time to give the militancy a voice" and that whether or not the regional elections are brought forward, it would be good if the PSOE had a candidate to explain in time to the Andalusians the project.

On the other hand, the mayor of Jaén and the mayor of Seville demanded a greater role for the municipalities in the co-management of the recovery funds that the

European Union

assigns to the governments and that they transfer to the autonomous communities.

In this sense, both councilors asked the Junta de Andalucía to promote a technical table with the municipalities, sectorized by population - large cities on the one hand and other municipalities and county councils on the other - to address the co-management of these funds on the line of the institutional declaration promoted by the

Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces

(FEMP), which asks that the municipalities can decide on the destination of part of these items.

«In this line of the FEMP our claim is firstly that we can assume a percentage of that 15 percent, both of the funds that come from the different ministries, which are already issuing calls to present these initiatives and which will lead to specific projects in matters such as transport, energy efficiency or technological innovation, among other issues, such as regional ones, ”said Espadas.
